The IQA is pleased to release the detailed Gender Representation in Quadball Survey results and exemption recommendations for the ‘3-max’ gender rule.
The Gender Representation in Quadball Survey report visualises and summarises the findings of each question asked, and the exemption recommendations outlines appropriate exemptions based on data gathered from the survey, as well as outlining the exemption policy for IQA events in 2024 and 2025.
516 responses were received across 27 countries, and overall there was strong support for implementing the ‘3-max’ gender rule. Using this data the IQA announced in October that we will be moving forward with implementing the ‘3-max’ gender rule in our next iteration of the rulebook.
We also gathered data on how the implementation of this rule would affect players at a national and local level, as well as players’ opinions on if any exemptions for this rule would be necessary.
Using the gathered data the IQA has drafted an exemption policy that will be implemented for any IQA events in 2024 and 2025. We have also drafted recommendations for exemptions that can be implemented at a national or local level, but the decision to implement these exemptions remains at the discretion of individual National Governing Bodies. The exemptions policy and recommendations will be reviewed in 2025/2026. Please read the exemptions recommendations and policy for further information.
The IQA would also like to take a moment to thank the volunteers who worked tirelessly to release the survey, survey report and exemption policy.
