Across the global quadball community, NGBs are working to grow the sport in very different contexts, often facing structural challenges, limited resources, and the need to build sustainable local communities.
The Boost Up Contest, led by the IQA Expansion Department, was created to support these efforts: encouraging creativity, strengthening community engagement, and helping NGBs translate activity into long-term growth.
Five NGBs participated in this first edition: Czech Republic, Hong Kong, Kenya, Peru, and the Philippines. Each received initial support to promote their initiatives and develop their local communities.
At the end of the contest, three NGBs submitted final reports demonstrating their work and impact: Hong Kong, Kenya, and Peru. See the final report here.
A shared commitment to growth
All participating NGBs showed strong commitment to developing quadball in their regions, often working within challenging environments.
Their approaches highlighted different strengths:
- Kenya demonstrated strong grassroots energy and community engagement
- Hong Kong showed consistent execution and strong organizational capacity
- Peru presented a structured and outcome-oriented development model
At the same time, the evaluation emphasized an important learning: activity alone is not enough—sustainable growth depends on the ability to translate actions into measurable and lasting impact.
And the winner is…
After evaluating execution, impact, sustainability, and reporting, the final ranking is:

Peru stood out for its ability to align strategy, execution, and measurable outcomes. Its work demonstrated how targeted actions, combined with follow-up and community integration, can lead to tangible and sustainable growth.
