Teams often ask how seeding works for continental tournaments. As in recent years, the IQA uses team Elo rankings to decide tournament pods for each continental competition. The same system will be used for the Quadball World Cup 2027.
The Elo ranking is a system that orders teams based on their results in official matches. Teams win or lose points depending on match results and the strength of the teams they play against. This helps show team performance over time.
There has been discussion about the current Elo system. The IQA will review the system and also look at possible alternatives. Any changes will be decided and shared before the 2028 continental tournaments.
