Changes in the IQA Leadership and Board of Trustees

Aug 21, 2025 | News

The International Quadball Association is pleased to share recent updates within our management team and Board of Trustees.

Liz May appointed as Events Director
As many who attended the last World Cup may know, Liz May stepped into the role of Events Director shortly before the tournament took place. While she was not involved in all the event’s planning stages, her leadership was key in overseeing the final preparations and supporting the successful delivery of the tournament. Liz now brings her expertise and vision to shaping future IQA events, and we look forward to the exciting projects she will lead in the coming years.
“Liz stepped into an incredibly challenging moment before the last World Cup and handled it with skill, professionalism, and care. Her ability to keep things moving under pressure while still prioritizing the athlete and fan experience was remarkable. I’m thrilled to see her bring that same energy and vision to shaping our future events”, said Bobby Click, Executive Director

New Rules Team Manager
The IQA Rules Team welcomes a new leader, as Niklas Müller was appointed as Rules Team Manager before of the last World Cup. His expertise and commitment will be invaluable in guiding the team’s work.

New Spanish Translation Coordinator
The Spanish translation team is now led by Pilar Fanjul. With formal training in translation, including project management and the use of technology, Pilar also brings a strong commitment to gender-inclusive language.
“As our first non-community translation coordinator, and as someone who loves acquiring knowledge, she’s excited to expand her vocabulary and learn more about our sport. I love the energy she brings to the position and am looking forward to working together,” said Joke Daems, Translation Manager.

Lore Badts steps down as Communications Director
After three years of exceptional dedication, creativity, and leadership, Lore Badts has stepped down from her role as Communications Director. Lore has given so much to the IQA and to the global quadball community — from shaping the organization’s voice to leading countless projects that have strengthened our sport’s presence worldwide.
We are fortunate that Lore will continue contributing to the quadball community in other ways, and her legacy at the IQA will remain a source of inspiration for years to come.
Ariadna Navone Sarubbi, current Interim Deputy Director of Communications, will serve as Interim Communications Director while the IQA searches for a permanent director and deputy.
“Lore has been the creative heartbeat of our communications for the past three years. She elevated how we tell our story, connected our global community, and championed the sport’s visibility at every turn. While we’ll miss her leadership in this role, we’re excited to see the impact she’ll continue to make in the wider quadball world”, said Bobby Click, Executive Director

Ryan Mooney steps down from the Board of Trustees
After serving the organization with dedication, Ryan Mooney has stepped down from his position on the Board of Trustees due to professional and personal commitments.
“We’re grateful for the time and perspective Ryan brought to the board, and we wish him all the best moving forward,” said Brenda Flores, Chair of the Board of Trustees.

We thank all outgoing leaders for their service, and warmly welcome the new appointees as they take on their roles. Together, we look forward to advancing the IQA’s mission and strengthening our community worldwide.
